AL DRONES obtains the first Authorization for BVLOS flights in Brazil

In the ceremony held in April 2019, at the Brazilian National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) headquarters in the city of São José dos Campos (SP), the company Santiago & Cintra Geotecnologias has received the certificate for the first BVLOS UAS Design Authorization in Brazil.

The AL DRONES Company, expert in Design & Certification of BVLOS UAS, has conducted the process with Brazilian Civil Aviation Authority. The Authorized models are the product line from the swiss manufacturer SenseFly: eBee Classic, eBee Classic RTK, eBee Plus and eBee SQ. Santiago & Cintra Geotecnologias, exclusive reseller from SenseFly Drones in Brazil, has been granted the possibility to sell the BVLOS approved UAS.

The certification work has initiated on December 2017, and has involved the work of Brazilians and Swiss engineers, from AL DRONES and SenseFly.

The certification reports must demonstrate that the UAS complies with BVLOS Brazilian requirements, through a series of engineering analysis and flight testing. In order to demonstrate the ANAC safety requirements, AL DRONES and SenseFly have conducted approximately 100 hours of Flight Testing for the eBee series. The process requires strong engagement from manufacturer, but also esures the operational safety of Drones flying beyond visual line of sight from remote pilot (BVLOS).

The Authorization granted by ANAC allows SenseFly eBee to receive a Special Airworthiness Certificate for Drones (CAER), indicating its capacity to safely operate in flights up to 400ft AGL (Above Ground Level) and 5km range from Remote Pilot Station (RPS).
